Kitchens Bath and Beyond

Kitchens, Bath & Beyond guides homeowners to renovations perfect for their tastes and budgets

When updating a home’s functionality and style, most homeowners opt to focus on kitchens and bathrooms — where they will see the greatest impact on their lifestyle and a home’s value. Kitchens, Bath & Beyond in Woodbridge simplifies this process and makes it easy for homeowners to “love where they live.” A certified team of designers and builders is dedicated to delivering clean, livable style and quality. The company’s full in-house capabilities help to support — and guide — homeowners through every step of the design process. Kitchens, Bath & Beyond also is a kitchen and bath showroom, as well as a renovation sourcing company, featuring a wide variety of products from plumbing and tile to lighting, cabinets, fixtures and more.

“We are a ‘one-stop shop’ for homeowners,” said owner and designer Janibell Rodriguez, who has built an exceptional reputation in the kitchen and bath business and has established relationships with many of the industry’s top vendors, contractors, architects, plumbers and electricians. “My goal is to provide customers with the opportunity to learn firsthand about the latest kitchen and bath products, and technologies. We have the ability to personalize any project to meet a client’s exact taste and budget. Collaborating with a designer takes away much of the stress typically associated with a home renovation project — by letting us manage the details, the homeowner can focus on the fun aspects of these projects as their vision comes to life.”

According to the National Kitchen & Bath Association’s (NKBA) 2023 Design Trends research, homeowners are looking to open the look and feel of the kitchen while adding elements that hide clutter. Consumers want multifunctional spaces that meet their at-home work, education and entertainment needs. “The open concept is trending in kitchen design. White oak floors are a stylish and timeless flooring option that many homeowners prefer,” Rodriguez said. “Scandinavian kitchen designs — with their simplicity and minimalism — are as sought-after as ever. Many kitchens are highlighting a neutral color palette, but with warm touches to avoid a ‘sterile’ feel.”

In bathrooms, open-concept designs and double showers (his and her showers) create a spa-like environment. For bathtubs, free-standing and soaking tubs will be most prominent in primary bathrooms. Sustainability also is important to many homeowners, with 100% LED lighting, separate storage for recycling, and increased natural light via low-E windows and doors among top green features in kitchens, according to the NKBA. This sustainability also extends to bathrooms with electric radiant flooring, and water-saving faucets and showerheads as top features.

In both kitchens and bathrooms, homeowners are seeking ways to reduce water consumption. Eco-friendly toilets reduce water bills and help conserve water. There are many ways to upgrade a kitchen faucet to reduce water usage as well. For example, hands-free and motion-sensor faucets have automatic shut-off features to prevent water from accidentally running. When it comes to kitchen countertop finishes, quartz is a top selection, due in part to its durability and ease of care. Porcelain is another excellent choice for countertops, allowing for a clean, contemporary look, Rodriguez noted.

Along with the rest of the home, kitchens and bathrooms are getting “smarter.” Many smart home devices today can be controlled with Alexa. Digital showers from top brands allow for customization, including user profiles with multiple presets to control elements such as temperature, duration and flow. “The kitchen is the ‘heart of the home’ and also gets the most attention from prospective buyers when a home is on the market. Along with adding resale value, there is also a ‘use’ value to these types of projects when you have a wonderful new kitchen or bathroom and get to enjoy it every day,” Rodriguez said.
